Mark Barden was born in Cleveland, Ohio (USA) in 1980 and has lived in Germany since 2004. He works in the areas of concert music and concert installation. His main teachers include Lewis Nielson, Rebecca Saunders, Mathias Spahlinger and Jörg Widmann.
Recent commissions include new works for the Donaueschingen, Witten, and Darmstadt festivals as well as for ensemble recherche, KNM Berlin, and Ensemble Intercontemporain. Mark Barden lives in Berlin and London.
